A Thank You Post

Our family has been incredibly fortunate that Brittany Kelly was in nursing school during the first two years of Sophia's life. This meant that every week, beginning when she was three months old, Brittany had the time available during my work day to spend with Sophia. As she starts full time nursing internships, we will miss her weekly visits, but feel grateful that she will always be a part of our family.

Below are a few pictures of the ladies together, starting with the first time Josh and I ever left Sophia to be cared for by someone else.

Beans

For three years now Sophia has joined her Grammie for bean picking from her garden with varying levels of participation.

She has shown increasing amounts of enthusiasm, perhaps the most this time because they were purple.

Thurber 2015

We gathered at the farm where Joshua's Mother grew up, for the 2015 Thurber Reunion.

Sophia enjoyed meeting a calf that had been born only an hour earlier.

As well as lots of other cows.

A hayride by her Great Uncle Dick, the current farm owner.

A pinata.

At the Grove

Sophia's third annual trip to Ocean Grove, New Jersey was supplied with beautiful weather.

My Dad's cousin Ellee and her husband Dick, as well as my Dad's cousin Bobbie and her daughter-in-law Lori were there in addition to the three of us, and Sophia's Naama, Bop-bop and Uncle James.

She still didn't want to go in the water, but she enjoyed the idea of it much more than her first year.

An additional delight was learning she could rinse off her own feet on the beach.
