I Found You

There is an additional layer of complexity when playing Hide and Seek with a two year old.

For example, it is often unclear who is supposed to be hiding and who is supposed to be seeking, and if the person who says they are hiding is actually hiding.

As demonstrated below:

How we rang in 2016

The children's Godparents, Glen and Carolyn, joined us for J's first New Year's Eve.

We attended the South Shore Children's Museum party. The festivities included a game like Musical chairs but with hula hoops.

Another little girl helped Sophia make sure to get inside the hoop.

Sophia also received some assistance for the toilet paper wrapping activity.

Her favorite parts were breaking out of it and the toilet paper fight that was encouraged afterwards.

The party attendees counted down to the New Year (at 6:30 pm).

And celebrated by releasing balloons.

On New Year's Day we went to the 25th Annual Blue Hills Reservation First Hikes with  a bonfire, complimentary soup, and visits with a hawk and owl.

We also got some hot chocolate, which Sophia calls "Marshmallow Tea".

Christmas 2016

We were very excited to celebrate J's first Christmas, which also meant his first trip to New Hampshire and Vermont.

We arrived at Joshua's childhood home the day before Christmas Eve and got to work constructing Gingerbread Houses.

Showing Grandpa
After the highlight of singing "Silent Night" while holding my baby boy during the Christmas Eve service, we awoke to a room full of presents.

My favorite was a beautiful stocking for J that was handcrafted in South America.

Before heading back to Massachusetts we drove up to Vermont for the annual Thurber Yankee Swap, where J met another 40 or so of his family members.

Little J-Man Turns 5!

Dear J-Man, Happy 5th Birthday! Does this make you a BIG kid?  You love bouncing off the  walls, just like your favorite superhero, Spider-M...
